Michael Diemer to become first Chief Services Officer of the ECB as of 1 January 2016. CSO manages administrative services, IT services, human resources and finance.
The European Central Bank (ECB) announced today that it has appointed Michael Diemer, 53, as its first Chief Services Officer. Mr Diemer, formerly General Manager IBM Global Technology Germany, is currently management consultant at the firm he set up, MIDI Consult. Michael Diemer will take up his new role on 1 January 2016.
The ECB created the new role of Chief Services Officer following a review of its organisational set-up. The CSO will manage all administrative services, IT services, human resources and a newly created finance business area.
The CSO will report to the Executive Board via the President and will regularly attend Executive Board meetings. The CSO is appointed for a period of 5 years, renewable once. ECB President Mario Draghi said: “I am looking forward to working with Michael Diemer. One of his tasks will be to further optimise the support services at the ECB.”
